PORTAL INTO THE PAST: On video release eve, we ORCHESTRALLY SPIRAL!
Today we cover our final video prior to tomorrow's premiere for the ORCHESTRAL version of SPIRAL INTO MADNESS!
Less than 20 hours from now we’ll debut the lyric video for HEIRS OF ISILDUR: SUPERNATURAL SABBATICAL (Friday the 13th of September 2024 at 1230PM EST) CLICK HERE TO BOOKMARK THE VIDEO PREMIERE. Today we’ll do our sixth and final video retro leading up to the premiere.
NOTE: This is the perfect day for us to do this retro on a wordless musical passage, because both of us (STEPH and MATT) are struggling mightily, after learning of the loss of one of our closest friends in the comic industry, KARL MOLINE. We plan on doing a full article on his passing and his importance in our sphere of existence soon, but for now we’re going to cover this video, as scheduled:
SPIRAL INTO MADNESS (ORCHESTRAL VERSION)
When writing music, you often get to a point where you have too many competing tracks. They might all sound good individually, but when placed together, some really cool elements might get lost in the insanity.
This is exactly what happened with I AM QIDO’S ‘SPIRAL INTO MADNESS’. When writing it, we wanted to make sure that there were region-appropriate instruments (Japanese winds and strings, etc…) We were really happy with how they came out, but as the ‘metal’ elements progressed, those ‘ethnic’ instruments got harder to pick out.
We made the decision to release a second version of the song, an instrumental version, that removed the vocals, bass, guitars, and drums. What was left were the winds, strings, choirs, and keyboards. The passage at 2:27 specifically was what compelled us to release this.
We hope you enjoy this version, and allow the LACK of words to speak to you in the same way the standard song does.
SPIRAL INTO MADNESS (ORCHESTRAL VERSION) is only available as an MP3 and music video. There is currently no PHYSICAL media available for it… HOWEVER, that is an 80 page one shot graphic novel that’s available, with SIX collectible covers from our WEBSTORE!
