PORTAL INTO THE PAST: Exploring the PERILOUS PROSPECTS of SHADOW'S HAVEN
Today we discuss the first song in a very important trilogy that leads into THE PERILOUS PROSPECTS story arc, plus we have a quick MISFITZ CLUBHOUSE ANNOUNCEMENT!

THE PERILOUS PROSPECTS OF SHADOW’S HAVEN.
THE PERILOUS PROSPECTS OF SHADOW'S HAVEN is the first (and only) video to be created for the HEIRS OF ISILDUR vs TALES FROM NOCTURNIA album. It's a simple 'stream' video (with no lyrics or additional video content), and it's the first that was created entirely by Matt from #TeamINSYM.
The song is part of a trilogy that starts the aforementioned album off. The trilogy is:
The Perilous Prospects of Shadow's Haven
The Perilous Prospects of The Portals
The Perilous Prospects of The Timekeeper
When crafting this album, we wanted to make sure that, if someone had never seen or read anything from HEIRS OF ISILDUR previously, they could jump right into 'The Perilous Prospects' story arc using these three songs as a starting point.
Why?
They cover the three main elements that are needed to understand the backstory. The very first verse of SHADOW'S HAVEN sets the stage:
Nestled within the valley between two grand mountain ranges,
Sits our puritanical village known by the name of Shadow’s Haven.
The untrained eye would see a community in full order,
But lying deep beneath are the scars we try so hard to conceal.
What is it that the town was trying to cover up? A murderous rampage by its historic citizens, that wiped a rogue band of scientists from the landscape.
... SHADOW'S HAVEN explains the events from the perspective of a 'Havenite', or current citizen of Shadow's Haven.
... THE PORTALS explains it from the perspective of one of the individuals from the massacred group, The Guild of the Golden Gear, who escaped the onslaught.
The final song - ...THE TIMEKEEPER, is in current times and explains the plight of our story's main character, MYKAL ISILDUR. This song is told from an onlookers’ perspective, and it’s about how Mykal thought he was in control over his actions, while in fact he was merely a puppet in a larger overall scheme.
This song is also the lead track on the only VINYL we’ve ever pressed - both are variants of the album have 5 songs for HEIRS on one side, five song for NOCTURNIA on the other:
